Lighting

The #1 Factor in Photo Quality

Best

Overcast sky or golden hour (6–8 AM, 4–6 PM)

Soft, even light with no harsh shadows. The ideal time to shoot exteriors, pools, and rooms with large windows.

Good

Bright indirect daylight

Open curtains fully, turn on all room lights for warmth. Works well for most interior shots year-round.

Challenging

Mixed light sources (warm lamp + cool daylight)

AI corrects color temperature imbalances automatically. Shoot anyway — ImageSystems handles the rest.

Avoid

Direct overhead noon sun or camera flash in small rooms

Harsh shadows, blown-out highlights, and unflattering color casts. Reschedule if possible, or rely on AI correction.

Staging

The “Lived-In But Perfect” Look

  • Bed perfectly made with throw pillows arranged symmetrically
  • Towels folded decoratively — swan or fan fold on bed, rolled in bathroom
  • Bathroom amenities arranged neatly in a line or grouped on tray
  • Curtains open fully — let natural light flood the room
  • All lights on, even during daytime — adds warmth and depth
  • Remove all personal items, trash, cleaning supplies, carts
  • One tasteful accent — flowers, fruit bowl, open book on nightstand
  • Turn off all TV screens — black rectangles kill photos

Equipment

Any Phone. Seriously.

Your front desk staff's iPhone or Android is all you need. ImageSystems AI handles the rest.
